Mathematics and mathematical formulas are most people’s nightmares. “Math anxiety” is a type of disorder that is defined as feelings of tension, apprehension, and fear of situations involving mathematics. In recent researches Math anxiety is prevalent in our society; as many as 25% of 4-year university students and 80% of community college students suffer from a high degree of math anxiety. Math anxiety is not only negatively correlated to math performance in school, but it can be also seen in the workplace and beyond after the students graduate. The general assumption is that people show much more anxiety and other negative attitudes toward mathematics than other academic subjects. People who think that they are bad at mathematics are more likely to be anxious. Many students complain that mathematics was hard to understand, whereas no one complains about playing video games. When we think of these games, it is clear that problem-solving knowledge is needed. Being successful in a video game can be compared to solving a math problem. I’m not talking about which one is more fun. Of course the second one!
